About

Founded in November 2022, ASL Interpreter Collaborative, LLC was built on a foundation of consistency, respect and professional excellence. Fostering lasting relationships between clients, consumers, and interpreters has allowed us to grow and adapt together. The owner, Erin Stumpf, an ASL Interpreter with 20+ years of experience strives to nurture the next generation of interpreters, and learn from her peers while serving the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.

Values

- Community We acknowledge the right for Deaf to choose their interpreters and the historical denial of those rights. We hope to honor Deaf choice, Deaf rights, and Deaf involvement. The interpreting profession would not exist without the Deaf community.

- Authenticity Diverse perspectives drive our excellence. We lean on our collective experiences to provide culturally appropriate interpreting and ensure the communities we serve can thrive. At our table, everyone has a seat and a voice

- Curiosity We prioritize active listening to dismantle harmful practices and foster a truly inclusive environment where the entire community can thrive

- Systemic Change We recognize that the interpreting landscape has room for growth. Our goal is to bridge existing service gaps and foster positive industry change. By supporting local leaders and integrating community feedback, we are redefining the agency model to create a more effective, collaborative standard.
